Fall 2020 Update

We  pray that this finds you doing well and staying healthy! 🙂  It has been a roller coaster of of emotions these past few weeks and I am praying that things get back to as normal as soon as possible!  Until then, as you can imagine, our preschool year will look VERY different.  We have been hard at work trying to figure out every detail, which is near impossible.  At the end of the day we want all of our families and staff to feel safe, stay healthy and have a fun, productive and memorable school year.

All of our guidelines are dictated by mandates and best practice recommendations from state licensing and Governor DeWine.  The number of children we will be allowed to have in our building was drastically cut during the summer, but we are thrilled to say that as of August 9th we are back to regular ratios!

We are SO excited to announce that WE WILL be in session for the school year!  IN PERSON!  Your children will be able to benefit from being in class with their peers as they form their foundation of education.  We understand that ,due to the pandemic and family situations, not every child will be able to join us.  If this is the case, please let us know as soon as possible.

If your child is registered for preschool, Kindergarten Exploration and /or ACE, we will be sending out information on details regarding Meet the Teacher, etc. as soon as we can.  It will be different this year and we are working through the details..

Start Dates are as follows:

Preschool- September 8th

Kindergarten Exploration- September 8th

A.C.E.- August 17th for full day care for those who need it (Jody will be sending out a sign up)

As you can imagine, there are many things that will be different this year.  Though we are able to meet in person at this time, we will still have many precautions in place to ensure the safety of our children and staff..Again,these items are either  mandated by the State in order for us to stay open or strongly encouraged by the State as a means of keeping people safe. Here is a breakdown of safety precautions we will be implementing:

* Parents will not be allowed in the building.  We will be utilizing class dojo, face time/zoom, emails, texts, etc. to keep in contact.

* If children are ill they will not be allowed to stay. If children have been exposed to a family member who is ill, we need to be aware.

* Children will be dropped off and picked up through a car pick up system that will be manned by staff. Or by drop off at the door, if arrival is late.

* Temperatures will be checked by use of a no-touch thermometer at drop off. Health screening questions will be asked upon drop off.

* Each class will have 15 students and 2 teachers.  Kids Morning Out will have 10 children and 2 teachers.

* Children will need to wash hands upon arrival and dismissal.

* Preschool Children are not required to wear a mask, teachers will wear a mask/ shield combination.  Kindergarten Children and older will need a mask (this is new as of yesterday based on the Governor’s orders).

* All classes will be kept separate from other groups. Outside play time will be staggered. Snacks will be eaten in class.

* Communal spaces such as bathrooms, playground, etc. will be sanitized after each use by a special team and will have materials for each individual class.

* Classes and items in the classrooms will be sanitized daily.  There will be a morning set of materials and an afternoon set of materials.  Items will not be shared between classes unless properly sanitized.

* Children’s Church will be taped and shown in class.

* We will take Lunch Bunch session by session.  As of now, there will be no Lunch Bunch session 1 and 2.  This is to alleviate the amount of people a child will come in contact with.

*  The water fountain will be off limits.  Each class will have pitchers of water and cups as needed.

* Parent Connection will take place online and through Zoom.

I know this sounds intense!  I promise you it is to keep health and safety a priority during these unprecedented times.  If I have inadvertently omitted something or if you have additional questions please let me know.  I will be in touch as things continue to change.  It is hard to keep up sometimes!  We are all in this together and we will get through it!  We are in the middle of history being made and we all need to work together to ensure we see the future.:)

If your plans have changed and your child will no longer be attending please let me know.

We look forward to seeing all of you soon!

God bless,

“But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed, knowing from whom you have learned it, and how from childhood you have known the sacred writings that are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.”
